Gate Plaza

The Gate Plaza is home to the massive mural that is a major MIMOCA drawcard, joined by three intriguing art objects in a spacious, attractive area that Inokuma believed would inspire new creative ambitions, and make the museum more welcoming to children.

Information Desk (Entrance Hall)

See here for entry tickets and all inquiries. To realize Inokuma’s vision of a museum to relieve stress and soothe the souls of many, this attractive space is suffused with natural light and equipped with comfortable seats available to all. Also the place to borrow a stroller or wheelchair.

Museum Shop

Shop selling a range of Genichiro Inokuma-inspired merchandise. Inokuma was personally involved in the development and manufacture of around 200 original items including postcards, handkerchiefs, T-shirts and mugs. Exhibition catalogues also available.

Gallery A / Gallery B

Here works by Genichiro Inokuma from the MIMOCA collection are presented thematically. The works of this artist always curious about the world changed frequently over his 70-year painting career. Yet it was his unswerving desire to paint “things beautiful as pictures” that allowed him to alter the visible aspects of those works.
